March 32nd, a new Internet series, shoots at PAX Prime 2011

While I was at PAX Prime 2011 in Seattle, I discovered a game developer known as Chromed. Most booths at gaming conventions are places where the company allows gamers to play, but this booth was a giant greenscreen cube.

The reason why is because they were using the attendees at PAX to be extras in their game, March 32nd. The game is planned to be a combination of a contemporary noir story in 12 episodes, and it is completely interactive.

Apparently, every character in March 32nd is nothing more than silhouettes of different colors.

Report: Apple’s Steve Jobs Won’t Step Away From Decision Making Processes

There’s tons of talk surrounding Apple right now, and for good reason. The man who directed a huge amount of Apple’s comeback story has stepped aside as CEO, and there are plenty of unanswered questions moving forward. But it’s important to note a few things. First, Tim Cook has been a monumental figure at Apple during Steve Jobs’ periods of leave. He has been right there beside Jobs in the decision-making processes, and this whole “leader” thing won’t be foreign for him. But potentially even more important is this: Jobs isn’t leaving Apple. Motorola Mobility reports $56 million net loss in Q2, $3.3 billion in revenue

Back in the last quarter of 2010, Motorola Mobility predicted a rocky road for future business, and its Q2 earnings seem to be right on track. The company reported total net revenues of $3.3 billion in the second quarter, up 28 percent year-over-year, but saw a net loss of $56 million, compared to earnings of $80 million in the second quarter of 2010. Mobile Devices saw an operating loss of $85 million, compared to the previous year’s earnings of $87 million. SK Telecom’s Smart Cart

Some of you might remember when we reported on the virtual grocery store at train stations, and here is another advancement in grocery shopping technology with SK Telecoms Smart Cart.

The Smart Cart has a tablet that can sync with your smartphone, and it knows where you are in the store. Yes, the cart has an app that syncs up with the stores Wi-Fi network for real indoor positioning.

As customers walk through the aisles, the tablet will display deals. For example, if youre going through the cookie aisle, you might see a quick virtual coupon show up for Oreos or Fig Newtons.
