Sony Announces VAIO CW Notebook

Sony has introduced their latest notebook, the 14-inch VAIO CW. Starting at $799 and available with Windows 7, it has the following specifications:

  • 14-inch screen (16:9, 1366×768)
  • Windows 7 64-bit
  • Intel Core 2 Duo processors up to 2.80GHz (T9600)
  • Nvidia GeForce GT 210M 256MB or GT 230M 512MB
  • Up to 8GB RAM
  • Up to 500GB hard drive space
  • Available Blu-ray disc drive
  • One-year limited warranty
  • Battery life: 4 hours with standard battery, 6 hours with extended
  • Dimensions: 13.44″ (W) x 1.09-1.52″ (H) x 9.18″ (D)
  • Weight: 5.3 lbs w/ standard battery

The VAIO CW is available in five colors, including red, pink, white, black, and indigo.

GATEWAY TO LAUNCH 11.6 INCH EC18T CONVERTIBLE TABLET


Gateway plans to launch an 11.6 inch convertible tablet running on the Windows 7 Basic or Home Premium. Dubbed EC18T, the device may offer stiff competition to Gigabyte T1028 and Asus Eee PC T91.

The EC18T is rumored to run on the Intel Core 2 Duo processr with 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM and Intel GS45 Express graphic chipset. The leaked pictures of the device shows a stylus holder built into the screen bevel. Other features include what looks like an HDMI port.

Gateway has not yet announced any official information regarding pricing or availability, but it is expected to reach the market soon after the release of Windows 7. Read more…

Nokia Booklet 3G Priced for Germany Launch

The Nokia Booklet 3G appears to have finally been priced. The price is different than was expected, but unfortunately, not in a good way for consumers.

A little over a month ago we discussed expected pricing for the ultrathin and ultralight Nokia Booklet 3G, but someone at Nokia must have made a typo, because it costs nearly as much in Euros as we originally expected it to in dollars.

The notebook is ultralight at 1.25KG (2.75lbs) and measures a mere .78″ thick. It features a killer battery life of up to 12 hours thanks to a 16-cell user-removable battery. Aside from that, it sports some more standard specs including an Atom Z530 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, and a resolution of 1280×720 on its 10.1″ display. Read more…

Get Slimed with Dell’s Mini Nickelodeon Laptop

Dell’s latest Mini-laptop is definitely family-friendly. The new version of the Inspiron works like any other Dell laptop, but it certainly doesn’t look the same.
