Samsung NP-N150 Netbooks Spotted with Atom N450

A new netbook from Samsung has been spotted featuring Intel’s latest netbook processor, the Atom N450.

The 10.1″ netbooks will feature a 1.66GHz Atom N450, Intel’s GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB DDR2 RAM and a 160GB HDD. The resolution will be 1024 x 600 and it comes pre-loaded with the rather limited Starter Edition of Windows 7. It will have an integrated webcam, 802.11b/g/n, 3 USB ports and a card reader.

The netbook will be able to manage up to 7 hours in battery life, no doubt in part due to the power efficient N450 that powers it. It weighs 2.73lbs and will be available, at least from Neobits, for $373.95, but there is no info on availability. Read more…

Acer Introduces New TravelMate Timeline Notebooks

The new TravelMate Timeline laptops will be geared towards business users. The CULV notebooks will feature long battery life and are lightweight for good portability without getting too expensive.

There will be three models in the TravelMate Timeline series, the 8671, 8471 and 8371. These notebooks will have a size of 13.3″, 14.1″ and 15.6″ respectively. All laptops will have a weight of 3.5lbs and feature fingerprint scanners for extra security. They will be powered by Core 2 Duo CPUs and feature up to 4GB RAM.

These laptops are available now, ranging from $899 to $999.

ACER INTRODUCES TRAVELMATE TIMELINE BUSINESS NOTEBOOKS


Acer has unveiled its TravelMate Timeline notebooks aimed at businesses. There will be three different models dubbed TravelMate Timeline 8571, 8471 and 8371. The TravelMate Timeline 8571 has a 15.6 inch display; the 8471 has a 14 inch and the 8371 has a 13.3 inch display.

All models in the series will be powered by Intel Core 2 Duo processors which belong to the Intel CULV (Consumer Ultra Low Voltage) platform. The notebooks will run Windows 7 Professional. Windows XP downgrade option will also be available. Either 3GB or 4GB of fast SDRAM can be installed. The connectivity options include WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, WLAN, Bluetooth and gigabit LAN. There will be no discrete GPU, but the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD offers full support for Microsoft DirectX10 standard enabling the notebooks to deliver good graphics and video. The touch-pad supports multi-touch gestures.
The six cell battery is rated at 5600mAh. It is expected to give up to 8 hours of battery life. Other features include optional port replicator, integrated webcam and fingerprint reader.
Pricing and availability
The notebooks are now available from Acer’s retail partners. Prices start at $899.
