Report: Sony to report first profit in 2 years

Sony is expected to next week report its first full-year operating profit in 2 years, according to a report in Saturday’s Nikkei newspaper.

The newspaper said strong sales of flat-panel TVs in China and Japan and cost cutting throughout its operations were largely to thank for the operating profit. It didn’t cite a source for the report or detail the size of the operating profit expected.

HP recently engaged in a pseudo marketing campaign for the Slate–launching videos displaying its apparently formidable capabilities. A leaked HP document exposed a line-by-line comparison of the specs and features of the Slate vs. the iPad. On paper, it appeared to pose a reasonable challenge–especially for users who want or need more complete PC performance.

Mysterious Boot Error Message

Mariachi507 asked the Answer Line forum about a boot time error message trying to load a non-existent .dll.

Chances are this annoyance is left over from something you removed–either a program you uninstalled or some malware cleaned up by your security software. Assuming your computer is otherwise running fine, the error message is probably less harmful than the actual .dll.
