What if you could recharge your phone battery by twirling it around your finger? Thats what a design concept Song Teaho and Hyejin Lee promises.
The yet unnamed battery design is similar to your normal cell phone battery. But thanks to the hole on one end, its possible to spin the power pack around a finger, converting kinetic motion into useful energy. According to diagrams showcasing the design (see pictures above), 130 twirls creates up to 2 minutes of talk time and 25 minutes of standby.
Unfortunately, this yet another design concept, with no official word on when this design will hit the mass market—if at all—and at what price. Lets see if Teaho and Lee can find some backers, and hope that putting a hole in a cell phone battery doesnt lead to a significant loss in lifetime.
