Swann PenCam + Pocket = Subtle Snooping

The Swann PenCam probably represents the most convenient option for recording videos or pictures inconspicuously. Nothings easier than stuffing a genuine pen (it really writes) into your shirt pocket, and let its hidden camera do all the surveillance work.

After the PenCam captures AVI videos in 640 x 480 resolution, or snap 1280 x 960 JPEG photos, uploading the evidence is a simple matter of unscrewing the upper part. That reveals a USB port (which, as you may know, is compatible with practically any computer nowadays) that facilitates easy uploading of the visual dirt. The USB port also draws power from the computer, recharging the PenCams battery.

Some pertinent specs: the pen has 2GB of built-in memory, promises over 1 hour of space for videos, and requires around 2 hours plugged in to fully charge. The PenCam has a battery that lasts for approximately 90 minutes, features manual and continuous recording modes, and comes with a manual, 3 ink refills, and a USB cable.

Sounds good, but without having used the gadget itself, I can only wonder if the black finish with bright gold trim attracts unnecessary attention. Theres an understated version with silver coloring, but video and photo quality is lower.

SRP for the Swann PenCam is $99. The surveillance gadget is available from Swanns network of retailers. More info available from the product page.
