Asus has announced a new Ion powered netbook, the Eee PC 1201N. The netbook gets bumped up hardware configurations as well as Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
The Asus Eee PC 1201N will come with an Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz processor and a beefier 2GB RAM. There is also a large 250GB Hard disk included. It has a 12-inch WXGA 16:9 LED backlit display. Nvidia Ion platform makes it sweeter as it gives the netbook the ability to play HD content with ease. There is a 10/100 Ethernet port, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 1.3MP webcam and a multi-format card reader. The capacitive 5200mAh 6-cell battery is onboard which is advertised to give around 11 hours of runtime.
The netbook is expected to be launched by the end of October after the release of Windows 7. According to a Chinese retailer website, the netbook is priced at 3,504 Yuan (around $513) which makes it a little pricey.
