Dell’s 11.6″ Inspiron 11z is a thin and light notebook for those craving something slightly larger than your average netbook.
The new 11z weighs in at a meager 3lbs and is under 1″ thick, for only $399. This is accomplished by abstaining from any sort of optical drive, featuring a low powered 1.2GHz Celeron 723 CPU to go along with GS45 integrated graphics, and packaging it all with a small 3-cell battery. Other specifications of note include 2GB DDR2 RAM, a 250GB 5400RPM HDD, 3USB ports, a card reader, an integrated webcam, and HDMI as well.
The Inspiron 11z will run Windows Vista, but there’s no need to worry the ho-hum specs will break down with Vista over time as you’ll be able to inexpensively upgrade to Windows 7 in the Fall.
