How Do You Define Broadband?

With government initiatives underway to hopefully improve our broadband lives here in the US, the first item on the list appears to be defining exactly what broadband is. Or rather, what definition the government will use. Some say it has to do with speed, some see it as a different picture.

The FCC is looking for input and has published a Public Notice to that effect. You can read more about it on broadband.gov and here is the link to submit brief comments. Longer comments with attachments can be submitted here.

HANNSPREE ENTERS THE NETBOOK MARKET WITH HANNSNOTE

Hannspree has entered the netbook market with its HannsNote netbook. This 10 inch machine has an attractive design and is very lightweight.

The HannsNote netbook has more or less the same specifications as other netbooks in the market. It is powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU with 1GB RAM and a 160GB HDD. Other features include 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth, card reader and integrated webcam.

The HannsNote has a 6-cell battery which is expected to provide decent uptime. The machine will weigh just 2.9lbs with the battery. The netbook will run on the Windows XP platform. Read more…
