OWC has introduced its new Mercury Electra 6G SSD which features support for the new SATA 6Gpbs interface which delivers enhanced transfer speeds. The Mercury Electra 6G utilizes the SandForce SF2281 controller and uses Asynchronous Tier 1/Grade A 2X-nm NAND Flash memory.
The Mercury Electra 6G includes chip-based 256-bit and 128-bit AES-compliant data encryption, it supports SMART Command support, ECC Recovery, SandForce’s DuraClass technology with ultra-efficient Block Management and offers up to 556MB/s read speed and up to 523MB/s write speeds using the SATA III 6Gbps interface.
The Mercury Electra 6G will be available in the storage capacities of 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 600GB. I
Wondering what Mountain View has in store for Google TV — that half-baked content platform available on only a small handful of devices? Well, it’s not going away, apparently, and may even cross the Atlantic into Europe next year. Google Chairman Eric Schmidt is currently making waves in Scotland, giving Edinburgh International Television Festival attendees a rather vague overview of what the next generation of Google TV may look like. Schmidt said that the service has yet to take off because it’s currently integrated with (a rather limited selection of) TVs, which we don’t tend to upgrade more than once or twice a decade.
Back when we first caught a glimpse of the Droid Bionic, we speculated that the post-Atrix placement of the micro-USB and micro-HDMI ports might make it compatible with the updated Photon Webtop dock and accessories. Judging by the screenshot grabbed by Droid Life, we might have a winner as the add-ons look to be interchangeable, possibly a first step towards CEO Sanjay Jha’s promised improvements. The product page also says the accessories will be “affordable” for those “curious about the Webtop application” — count us in.
