Galaxy Nexus lands on Verizon, gets first update

The day has finally arrived: Verizon’s Galaxy Nexus has gone on sale. After taking it home, ripping open the box, and getting your first look at Ice Cream Sandwich, though, you might see a notification for an update. Have no fear, for it’s safe to download and will give your handset a few last-minute tweaks.

The update brings Ice Cream Sandwich to Android 4.0.2. The build number is ICL53F. Its biggest change is to update the radio/baseband, which will improve your WiFi and 3G/4G connections. It

Facebook Timeline exposes your entire social identity

Facebook has just launched a new tool that aims to present a clearer and more complete picture of someone based on their years of social activity.

As it stands now, if you make a new friend and connect on Facebook, they’ll get to see basic profile information about you as well as a general idea of your wit and interests based on recent Wall posts.

But what they’re very unlikely to see is the moment you got that promotion, or the frequency with which your relationship status has changed, or the fact that you appeared on American Idol.

Those kinds of nuggets, which show a more complete picture of who you are, are lost in the way Facebook is presented now.

AMD Radeon HD 7000-Series cards

AMD’s next-generation high-end graphics card has been spotted, with images making their way onto the Internet. The new boards are marked as “Tahiti” and are believed to be the top-of-the-line single-GPU cards from AMD. This should be what the Radeon HD 7900-Series will eventually be.    The card, as you can see in the picture above, is quite long, roughly the same length as AMD’s current Radeon HD 6970. It sports twelve GDDR5 memory chips, which means they use a 384-bit memory bus. It also includes two 8-pin PCI Express power connectors, which should give it up to 375W of power to suck down.
