AMD iMacs, dodeca-core MacPros and 27-inch Cinema Display due tomorrow?

A well-known blogger with deep connections at Apple has followed-up on the last week’s rumor related to imminent iMac and Mac Pro refreshes, adding the company will also introduce a new 27-inch Cinema Display.

According to Daring Fireball’s John Gruber, Apple will release the updated hardware tomorrow, July 27, 2010. Advertising a new podcast series in a blog post on his site, Gruber dropped the following hint:

We’ll have much to talk about, what with the new Mac Pros (finally, right?), speed-bump iMacs, and the gorgeous new 16:9 27-inch Cinema Display that Apple might hypothetically release tomorrow.

Apple Refunding 15% On Broken 27-inch iMacs?

Being stuck with a problematic 27-inch iMac certainly isn’t fun, and we’re certainly hoping that Apple sorts out the display issues real quick. But if you’ve been encountering problems, it looks like there is a sliver of good news. Word is that Apple is giving customers in the US 15% refund bonuses, which is similar to what they’re doing in the UK. When you consider that 15% on a $2000 machine is about $300, that’s certainly a sweet deal. Of course, in the end, everybody is hoping that Apple manages to sort out these issues as soon as possible. After all, we’d all want a 27-inch iMac that looks awesome, right?
