Star Wars themed Xbox 360 unveiled at Comic-Con

A while ago, we reported on the rumored new version of the Xbox 360. I think that we all know that a new version is coming, but it wasnt unveiled at E3 this year.

However, a special edition of the Xbox 360 was just unveiled at the next geek-fest after E3, Comic-Con. I guess thats as good a convention as any to debut the Kinect Star Wars Limited Edition Xbox 360.

This special edition bundle comes with a console box that looks like R2-D2, and the controller has a gold look like everyones favorite protocol droid, C-3PO. It also comes with a white version of the Kinect, but I dont see the Star Wars influence there.

Microsoft Introduces Wireless Headset and Media Remote for Xbox 360

Microsoft announces an Xbox 360 wireless headset with Bluetooth and Xbox 360 media remote coming early November 2011. The Xbox 360 wireless headset with Bluetooth is an all in one device where gamers can go from chatting on Xbox Live to talking on a Bluetooth mobile device without changing headsets. The headset is compatible with Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones and PC’s, and the headset connects to the Xbox 360 via the consoles standard radio frequencies. The Xbox 360 Wireless Headset will be available for $59.99. Also available will be Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Media Remote which will be able to control the Xbox 360 dashboard along with DVD, CD, and media playback via Xbox Live. The

Microsoft sends message: Natal improves, not replaces, 360

Project Natal’s video tracking technology made serious waves during Microsoft’s E3 press conference; the company opened the show, and some argue that it set the tone for the event. While getting your hands on the new hardware proved to be monstrously tricky after the big reveal, Microsoft wants to get one message out to the gaming audience: Natal will supplement your Xbox 360, not replace it.

“The beauty is that ‘Project Natal’ will work with every Xbox 360, so there is no need to buy a new console,” said Albert Penello, Sr., Director of Global Marketing for Xbox 360, to Ars. “One more way we’re reinforcing that Xbox 360 is the best gaming and entertainment choice today and for the future.”
