Antec unveils open-air case LanBoy Air

If you are going to build a high performance gaming rig then you need to start with a good case. There’s no point installing top-of-the-line components if you end up with no airflow, difficult cabling, and a lot of noise.

Antec has just announced a new, and very different type of case that is as much air as it is metal. It’s called the LanBoy Air and instead of solid metal casing sections it has a mesh. That means you can see right into the case from most angles, but at the same time you have a lot more natural airflow through it.

PS3 firmware update causes headaches for US Air Force

Many gamers were disappointed when Sony remotely deactivated the PS3′s ability to run Linux or another operating system…but what happens when the US Air Force was using that feature for important computing processes?

In a firmware update to the PS3 last month, Sony disabled the console’s “Install Other OS” feature because there were rising concerns that users could install unauthorized software and commit software piracy.

That led to an immediate backlash, though. The feature had already been removed from the current PS3 slim models but there were millions of older units already sold.

On the inside, the iiView A2 is just an average netbook, with extra RAM and hard drive storage space.
