AMD Introduces New Mobile Platforms Tigris, Congo

AMD has announced the release of its two newest mobile platforms for notebooks, the Tigris and the Congo. Both are aimed at improving multimedia performance as well as battery life. Tigris is targeted at the “mainstream” notebook market, and is rated by AMD as capable of full 1080p HD video playback with DirectX 10.1 support while simultaneously providing up to 25% longer battery life (translating to an expected maximum of 55+ additional minutes) than previous AMD platforms.
