Diablo III launch day is May 15

All the rumors and speculation ends today. Blizzard has confirmed that Diablo III will launch on May 15 around the world.

May 15 will be the day you can head to a store, and most likely queue to purchase your copy. However, Blizzard is allowing you to bypass the hassle of doing that by offering a pre-purchase option via Battle.net. That will translate into a digital download on release day.

Alternatively, Diablo III is currently free if you sign up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass, which commits you to a year of subscription for the MMO, but still allows you to pay monthly. Read more…

Happy St. Patrick’s Day From Angry Birds

If you’re not too drunk busy to read this (got a text from a friend that was 4 car bombs deep by 10am- she’s very Irish), there’s still time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your thumbs, via the SPD edition of Angry Birds: Seasons.

 

 

This St. Patrick’s day bundle commemorates the Irish holiday by painting over the Angry Birds world in stereotypes. Players will delight to find pots of gold, giant green hat with gold buckles, and an Irish-themed instrumental thats as genius as it is annoying. I’m surprised the birds and pigs aren’t all drunk. <

New Gorillaz Album Finally Releases On Christmas Day [Unplugging]

It’s time for your weekly dose of music news with your friends at mxdwn. This week’s Unplugging column has new on the new Gorillaz album and much more.

The Gorillaz seem to be feeling the holiday spirit as they have announced the release of their highly anticipated new album for Christmas Day. Famed for being entirely recorded on an iPad, the mysterious album had little planning involved and was literally recorded in about a month while on the road during a North American tour. MWC 2010: Day 1 wrap-up

Microsoft reveals Windows Phone 7.

Microsoft made headlines on the first day of Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona with the announcement of Windows Phone 7, its brand new mobile operating system. It will feature integration with Xbox Live and Zune, with a user interface unlike anything we’ve seen before. The Windows Mobile name is effectively dead.

But that’s not all that debuted in Barcelona. Samsung took the opportunity to reveal its new Bada operating system with the Samsung Wave.
