The Asus Eee PC 1001P is now up for pre-order at Amazon.de. The netbook sells for 249 Euros (about $357 US). In Europe netbooks tend to cost more than they do in the US, still at $357, the 1001P is much cheaper than the Eee PC 1005P/PE netbooks.
The Eee PC 1001P runs Windows XP Home Edition. Its pricier siblings, on the other hand, run Windows 7 Starter. While the 1001P has a 6 cell battery is rated at 440mAh, the 1005PE has a six cell battery rated at 5800mAh. Still, $357 is a good price for a low cost netbook with a Pine Trail Atom N450 processor.
