I-O Data LCD-MF234XPGBR Full HD Monitor

I-O Data is getting ready to drop another Full HD monitor called the LCD-MF234XPGBR on the Japan market. The new LCD-MF234XPGBR features a IPS panel with a 23-inch LED-backlight display with 19201080 Full HD resolution. Specifications of the LCD-MF234XPGBR includes a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 250 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 degree viewing angles and a 14ms response time.

The Full HD Monitor also comes with two built-in 1.5W speakers and a few connectivity options including a mini D-Sub, DVI-D and 2x HDMI connectors. Read more…

HACKS: HOW TO UPGRADE ION LE TO FULL ION


Several netbooks sporting NVIDIA’s ION graphics are now available. But most of them feature the Light Edition (LE) of the chip which doesn’t offer full functionality. But now there is a simple solution to the problem, or so it seems.

One member at the MyHPMini Forum has hacked the ION LE on his Mini 311 and effectively upgraded it to the full version. All that he did was to add the device ID of the ION LE into an INF file and then install it. He says that performance has improved ever since.

The only major difference between ION LE and full ION is probably the lack of support for DirectX 10 standard in LE. Win Read more…

ZiiLABS’ ZMS-08 – media accelerator chip brings Full HD Blu-ray quality to netbooks


Low-power mobile devices such as netbooks will be able to let you enjoy full HD contents on them in near future. ZiiLABS, a subsidiary of of Creative Technology Ltd has announced the 3rd gen of their media-rich app processor, ZMS-08, which promises better processing power for full HD contents on low-power mobile devices.

The ZiiLABS’ ZMS-08 is a system on a single chip that borrows a couple of features of its predecessor including 1080p playback, 24fps encoding, and HD video conferencing via simultaneous 720p encoding and decoding. A
