‘Spider-Man’ Director Raimi to Helm ‘Warcraft’ Movie

“Spider-Man” director Sam Raimi has signed on to direct the movie adaptation of “World of Warcraft,” according to Variety. The movie will be known as “Warcraft,” not “World of Warcraft.”

The paper reports that Raimi will helm the film, which will be produced by Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. Work on the film is scheduled to begin after Raimi completes “Spider-Man 4″, which Variety said will begin work in 2010.

“At its core, ‘Warcraft’ is a fantastic, action-packed story,” Raimi said in a statement, as reported by Variety.

Let’s just hope there aren’t three hours of fetch quests before the plot picks up.
