iPhone not designed for below freezing conditions

It seems that the iPhone 4 is not exactly built to be a world traveler. According to a report, a woman in Norway was refused repair on her iPhone by the Apple Store after she pulled it from her pocket and found it shattered while strolling around in -14C conditions.

 

 

Apparently the phone is not designed to work at below freezing temperatures as well as above 35 degrees Celsius. There is a warning from the phone when it’s getting too hot, but you get nothing from the iPhone when it’s close to freezing to death…..besides a busted surprise when you reah into your pockets to warm up your hands. Following a year of hype mostly centered on the fact that it’s not its predecessor (Vista), Windows 7 has finally been released to the world today, to mostly positive notices. Of course, it’s been available in various forms since about the beginning of the year, but today is the first day you can officially buy it.

I’ve been using Windows 7 for a couple of months now, and although I like a lot of its new features, it’s hardly changed my life. In fact, the overall experience for me has been almost exactly like using Vista—well, after all its compatibility issues were fixed. Depending on how you use your computer, that could be a good thing or a bad thing.

Microsoft sends message: Natal improves, not replaces, 360

Project Natal’s video tracking technology made serious waves during Microsoft’s E3 press conference; the company opened the show, and some argue that it set the tone for the event. While getting your hands on the new hardware proved to be monstrously tricky after the big reveal, Microsoft wants to get one message out to the gaming audience: Natal will supplement your Xbox 360, not replace it.

“The beauty is that ‘Project Natal’ will work with every Xbox 360, so there is no need to buy a new console,” said Albert Penello, Sr., Director of Global Marketing for Xbox 360, to Ars. “One more way we’re reinforcing that Xbox 360 is the best gaming and entertainment choice today and for the future.”
