SONY showcase futuristic tablets S1 and S2 at it’s launch of VAIO S and Z series notebooks in Singapore

At the launch event of the SONY VAIO S and Z series, the attention was drawn away from the two laser thin notebooks. Instead all media attention seems to be on the yet to be available SONY tablet.

One of them is S1 and the other is S2. Both tablet looks sleek and information is sketchy. Below are some screen shots of it and a video of it in display at the event held at Handy Road, Singapore.

The Sony S1 and S2 are both based on Android 3.0 Honeycomb with customised UI.

The Sony S1 has a 9.4 screen with 1280800 resolution.

Samsung intros five more Series 9 Ultra-thin notebooks

Samsung’s ultra-thin Series 9 line-up of notebooks has just been extended with five more Intel powered models; three of which are 13.3-inch and two 11.6-inch sized ones. This family of notebooks are only 0.62-inches thick and no more than 1.31kg in weight.  All five models use SSDs and have an LED-backlit SuperBright panel running a 1366×768 resolution, Intel IGP, USB 3.0 support, FastStart technology (can ready up a machine in as little as 3 seconds), packed in a duralumin chassis with pre-loaded installation of Windows 7 Home Premium. Lenovo Intros G455/G555 AMD Notebooks

Lenovo has announced its latest consumer notebooks, the G445 and G555. The G455 and G555 feature 14.0- and 15.6-inch widescreen displays, respectively, AMD Turion II dual-core processors, and ATI Radeon HD integrated graphics.

The G455 and G555 will be available in the U.S. beginning in March starting at $449.

Lenovo Debuts ThinkPad Edge Notebooks

These notebooks are geared towards small business users and offer affordability along with portability due to AMD options as well as Intel.

The 13″ Edge notebooks now available will feature a 1366×768 LED backlit resolution and either Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon Neo X2 CPUs. The AMD chips will be paired with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 for graphics, while the Intel offering will use GMA 4500MHD.

Both versions of the laptop will have up to 4GB RAM, a 320GB HDD, 802.11n and optional Bluetooth/3G connectivity. They will run Windows 7 Professional and offer just under 8 hours of battery life while weighing in at 3.6lbs. Read more…

Samsung Announces New R30 and R80 Series Notebooks

Samsung has just introduced several new notebooks in the R30 and R80 series, with versions that gamers, multimedia enthusiasts, and businesspeople should approve of.

There are or will be three 80 series notebooks, the R480, 580 and 780. The first two will feature a Blu-ray optical drive, while the last two will sport a NVidia GeForce GPU. All 80 series units can come with an Intel Core i5 450M CPU, 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 802.11b/g/n and other features. They will have screen sizes of 14.0″, 15.6″ and 17.3″ respectively, with resolutions of 1366×768 in the first two and 1600×900 in the latter. Read more…
