Nokia Booklet 3G Priced for Germany Launch

The Nokia Booklet 3G appears to have finally been priced. The price is different than was expected, but unfortunately, not in a good way for consumers.

A little over a month ago we discussed expected pricing for the ultrathin and ultralight Nokia Booklet 3G, but someone at Nokia must have made a typo, because it costs nearly as much in Euros as we originally expected it to in dollars.

The notebook is ultralight at 1.25KG (2.75lbs) and measures a mere .78″ thick. It features a killer battery life of up to 12 hours thanks to a 16-cell user-removable battery. Aside from that, it sports some more standard specs including an Atom Z530 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, and a resolution of 1280×720 on its 10.1″ display. Read more…

Sony’s eReader will be priced at $199

Sony’s forthcoming eReader will be priced at just $199 (c£117) , with the electronics giant throwing down the gauntlet to Amazon and its Kindle and looking to win back the market for electronic readers.

Sony’s current reader is popular in the UK, where the Amazon Kindle range has yet to launch, but in the US the ‘etailer’ has taken a big market share.

However, after news of the two eReaders surfaced last week, it has been confirmed that Sony’s 5 inch eReader will be available for just under $200 with a larger version priced at $299 (c£176).

This lower price point could be a crucial factor for Sony – with the vast majority of people still not convinced that moving away from paper books is for them.
