Toshiba Updates Notebook Line for Windows 7

Toshiba today announced a plethora of updates for its Satellite line of consumer notebooks for Windows 7. Some models have received Touchscreen functionality, and all but the touchscreen models will be available on 22 October.

The 13.3-inch U500 series will start at $689.99 and will be available in four colors: red, white, pink, and brown. The touch-enabled U505-S2980-T will be available on 1 November for $1,049.99.

The 14-inch M500 series gets new color options: red, pink, white, and the original black.

Windows 7 Party Pack: the UK unboxing

Our Party Pack has arrived from Microsoft ahead of our big Windows 7 party – but what goodies will we get to make sure we fully explain an OS through the medium of a shindig?

The party pack itself comes in a laptop-shaped box – we’re glad we knew this was coming otherwise the result would have been a really big let down.

The contents are just as we thought – the opportunity to have one of the most confusingly-themed parties in the world.

Inside are two copies of Windows 7 (for both 32-bit and 64-bit computers), napkins, playing cards, a jigsaw puzzle, a weird fold out card thing and an explanation letter, along with ten Windows 7 Tote bags.

Oh, and a folded poster – we all know how amazing they look when stuck up on the wall.

Toshiba’ Slim T100 Series Gains Windows 7

With the anticipated launch of Windows 7, we are seeing a ton of new laptops coming out that already have Windows 7 integrated into them. Toshiba has just launched a new line of slim laptops entitled the T100 series. Toshiba has unveiled two new laptops for the T100 series, the 13.5-inch T135 and the 11.6-inch T115. Each device is less than one inch thick with multi-touch touchpads and LED backlight displays.

One new feature included in the T100 series, as well as most of the recent Toshiba laptops, is the extremely useful sleep-and-charge feature. Read more…
