Microsoft Introduces Wireless Headset and Media Remote for Xbox 360

Microsoft announces an Xbox 360 wireless headset with Bluetooth and Xbox 360 media remote coming early November 2011. The Xbox 360 wireless headset with Bluetooth is an all in one device where gamers can go from chatting on Xbox Live to talking on a Bluetooth mobile device without changing headsets. The headset is compatible with Bluetooth devices such as mobile phones and PC’s, and the headset connects to the Xbox 360 via the consoles standard radio frequencies. California man goes to court for modifying Xbox 360

In a landmark case, one gamer is being taken to court for installing chips in Xbox consoles enabling users to play illegally obtained games.

In the first trial of its kind, Matthew Crippen, 29, is being taken to court today for modifying Xbox 360s. Crippen was arrested in August 2009 after he was paid to install chips in consoles in order for users to play pirated games.

An undercover agent approached Crippen and offered $80 for the service, and recorded a conversation in which Crippen admitted to modifying three Xbox 360s a week. According to the prosecution, Crippen was running a small business with this operation. He was arrested and released on $5,000 bond.

XBMC Projects Bids Farewell to Original Xbox

“Very sad. As an XBMP user from back in the day, and still using XBMC on the original Xbox, thank you XMBC team,” an XBMC user wrote in response to the XBMC team’s latest announcement.

What he’s referring to is the dissolution of the original Xbox branch from the team’s subversion repository. What that means is no more releases or updates to the XBMC platform for the original Xbox, and instead 100 percent of the focus will be on other, more modern platforms.

“The last official release for the XBOX by the XBMC team was Atlantis, over 18 months ago,” the XBMC team announced in a blog post. “Since then, one brave soul (Arnova) has been merging code from the main codebase into the XBOX branch in our repository.

CES: Xbox Live Game Room brings back the classic 25-cent arcade

LAS VEGAS–While it was great to get some solid hands-on time playing PS3 in 3D, Microsoft debuted something for the Xbox 360 that we’ll actually be able to play in late March; not to mention it’s much more practical too.

Xbox Live Game Room essentially allows you to create your own arcade, offering titles from many classic developers like Atari, Intellivison, and Konami. When the service goes live in late March, 30 titles will be immediately available with five to seven new games being released each week.
